Use Unified Login to access Studio across your Livefyre services networks.
Unified Login allows Site and Network Owners and Moderators to access Studio using a Studio account. Users with Moderator access to multiple networks will be able to manage these networks from a single Studio account. Please note that Studio accounts enable access to Livefyre Studio, and differ from Network accounts used to interact with Applications.
Studio Accounts allow you to access all Studio components for which you have permissions, including Collection creation, App design, Content moderation, and User management.
This document describes the following account information:
- Creating Accounts
- Linking Accounts
- Logging into Studio
- Switching Networks
- Studio Account Permissions
Owners may invite new or existing users to create a Studio account as an Owner or Moderator.
Note: Your network’s first Studio account invitation will be sent by your Livefyre Technical Account Manager, and will create a network Owner. Please provide an email address for which this first account will be created.
To add an Owner or Moderator (and create a Studio account):
- From the Network pulldown menu, select the network or site for which the account will be created.
- From the Settings > Users page, click +Owner or +Moderator.
- From the Add Owner or Moderator dialog that opens, enter the requested information, and click Invite.
To invite an existing Livefyre user to Studio, enter their Username and an Email address. (Note: You may enter a different email address for the listed username than that associated with the Livefyre account.) To invite a new user to Studio, enter their Email address. Add a message, if desired, and click Invite.
For both New and Existing Users, Livefyre will issue an email invitation to create a Studio account. Existing users will click the link to create a new Studio account, which will be linked to their existing network account. New users will be asked to create a temporary network account, which may be linked to their user account on your network after your network authentication has been integrated with Livefyre’s. (After your integration is complete, their network user account will be automatically linked to the Studio account.)
Note: When inviting others to join Studio, you may only create accounts with permission levels equal to or less than your own. For more information, see Studio Account Permissions.
Linking your Studio account to your network account allows you to moderate or manage all of your Livefyre sites or networks from a single location.
Note: To interact with a Livefyre App (leave a comment, add a Sidenote, or share content), you must log in using your network account’s username and password, and not your Studio account’s. Logging into Studio grants you Moderator and Owner rights across all networks for which you have Moderator permissions; it does not grant user access to individual Apps.
To link accounts:
- Log into Studio after creating a user profile on your network.
- Go to Users, and find your User Profile.
- Click Link account to this profile.
- Confirm the Link Profile information, and click Link.
Once your network account is connected to your Studio account, you may access Studio through your bookmarked links or through any Livefyre App. (From an App, select Studio from your Account pulldown.) Livefyre will redirect you to the Studio sign in page, or straight into Studio if your session hasn’t expired.
Studio allows you to manage multiple networks from a single Studio account. The Account pulldown menu will list the different network usernames associated with the logged in Studio account, and the networks with which they are associated. Use this pulldown to select the network you wish to manage.
Note: While most users will have permissions for only a single network, some Studio users may own or moderate multiple sites. The Studio account allows them to log in with a single username and password, then switch between multiple site access levels.
Studio Accounts are granted to site and network Owners and Moderators.
Owners have global access to all tools in Studio, including all configuration settings. A network Owner can add or remove another network or site Owner. A site Owner can add or remove another site Owner for the site(s) to which they have access.
To add an Owner, select the network or site they will own, and click +Owner from the Settings > Users page.
Moderators can be added at the network or site level, and are granted access to Studio’s content and user moderation tools. Unlike Owners, Moderators cannot view or edit any network or site level settings, and cannot invite others to Studio. From within Studio, Moderators may:
- Moderate content.
- Access the Users page.
- Ban users.
- View, search and configure Collection settings.
- Add, edit, or delete Curate Rules for a Collection.
To add a Moderator, select the network or site they will be allowed to moderate, then click +Moderator from the Settings > Users page.
The following chart details Studio Account permissions granted Network and Site Owners and Moderators.
Note: Site Owners and Moderators have access to their site only. They do not have permission to perform the listed actions against other sites or networks.
